Comprehensive Cardiovascular Assessment

Up to 50% of all heart attack or stroke patients will have no prior signs or symptoms.

We are offering Comprehensive Cardiovascular Assessments which quickly and accurately help to determine the overall health of the cardiovascular system. Even patients with low cholesterol levels may still carry dangerous plaque in the blood vessels of the heart.

This highlights the importance of early assessment, as risk factors such as these can be lessened or reversed with early intervention.

Using the results of this in-depth Comprehensive Cardiovascular Assessment protocol, the physician and team can formulate a plan to help minimize or even reverse any risk factors that are evidenced in the test results.  The protocol includes the following:

1.    Fractionated Lipoprotein Test:  More than just cholesterol, there are many factors that can be tested for in blood that damage your blood vessels.

2.    Carotid IMT :  Cutting edge ultrasound device that can “see” inside your neck arteries. This correlates highly with cholesterol plaque buildup in your coronary arteries and stroke risk.         (note: standard Echocardiogram will not determine whether there is cholesterol plaque within coronary arteries).

3.    Endothelial Dysfunction TestCurrently the earliest test for heart and brain diseaseState of the art medical device with over 300 scientific studies behind it. Also assesses arterial stiffness.  Can be used to monitor and assess whether your current medical, or nutritional therapies are working.

4.    Heart Rate VariabilityMeasures the effects of environmental stressors on your nervous system and how your heart is tolerating this. Detects imbalances of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Crucial to maintaining good heart health and preventing stress-related disease.

5.    Bioimpedance AnalysisThis medically accurate device checks visceral fat, the most inflammatory type of fat tissue which damages your heart and causes diabetes. Even thin people can have dangerous amounts of fat around their organs and not know it.  It also is used to monitor lean mass, basal metabolic rate, intracellular fluid status and cell membrane fluidity.

6.    Telomere Test:  Telomeres are located at the ends of chromosomes and are critical to the health of all the cells in the body.  With age and numerous other factors, the length of telomeres decrease which results in poor cell regeneration.  This test correlates with vascular aging.

7.    Hormonal TestingLow testosterone has been linked to negative outcomes associated with heart attacks and heart failure.

8. 24hr Ambulatory BP Monitoring: The most accurate method of measuring blood pressure in the real world. For some people, their blood pressure is only high in the doctor’s office, and they may not need to take BP medicines. Also, if the blood pressure does not decrease at night, you are at a high risk of heart disease. This test is the only way to find out.

These are baseline assessment disease prevention tests and so are not available nor covered by MSP.
